Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the H4H Speed Puzzling Competition is returning to Dolores this winter. This annual fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity Montezuma County is not your grandmothers tea time puzzle session. This is an all out, bare-knuckle, edge of your seat race where a moment’s lapse in concentration can cost you the title. Do you have what it takes to be this year’s champion? Gather your team and step into the PuzzlePlex.

J. Roddy Walston is a force of nature. If his hits like Heavy Bells is are a war cry, then the deep cuts like Boys Can Never Tell are a tactical cosmic retreat. For some, his music is a form of religion, psychedelic in its intensity, transformative in its grip on the body, shaking loose something primal that’s been buried too long. It’s not about thinking, It’s about moving, feeling, surrendering. His influences are a riot of contradictions: Kurt Cobain’s fury, Nilsson’s fractured sweetness, Zeppelin’s power, and somewhere in there a perverted nod to William Onyeabor’s lonely calculator funk. Critics try to box him in, but Walston can’t be contained—he does chaos, and his live shows do damage, but fortunately his songs can pay the tab. Catch him and his band before he burns it all down again.

The Saint Cecilia’s sound is rooted in the classic rock of the 1960s and 70s-drawing inspiration from legends like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Rush-while also embracing the energy and style of modern rock bands such as Arctic Monkeys and The 1975. Their music is characterized by energetic guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and lyrics that reflect personal experiences, love, and the challenges of pursuing a musical dream. The band members’ diverse backgrounds add further depth, with French discipline and Costa Rican “pura vida” spirit blending in both their sound and work ethic.

The Dirty Turkeys emerged from the basement jam scenes of Boulder, Colorado, carving out a raw, unfiltered take on psychedelic rock. What began as late-night sessions between friends has evolved into a high-octane touring act headlining stages across the U.S.

Drawing inspiration from icons like The Velvet Underground, The Doors, Dick Dale, and The Stooges, The Dirty Turkeys have built a reputation for delivering high-energy, immersive live performances that feel both timeless and on the edge of something new.

Hold onto your butts. It’s bigger and better than ever. The names, the outfits, the egos, they’re all coming back this June. The biggest stage in the Beer Mile Circuit is turning up the heat and bringing the mayhem back to Dolores. Are you up for a little friendly competition? Toe the line, punk.

  • “What a gem! I am on a lengthy road trip (several months) and this was the perfect soft landing. The hosts are incredibly responsive, gracious and warm. The vibe of the hostel is chic, comfortable, relaxed and modern — all at the same time. You can do your own thing or mix and mingle. The bathrooms/showers were excellent! I slept so comfortably and cannot say enough good things about the environment from the lounge areas, kitchen, amenities, location and hosts! A must stay if you’re in the Dolores area!”

  • I was on a group ride and stayed here. Our entire group was blown away by the experience. Jake and Hannah were amazing hosts. The bunks were so comfortable I slept a full 8 hours that night. The bathrooms and showers were NICE. Great kitchen. Great spots to relax. I absolutely recommend DBH!

  • Awesome place in an awesome town. The hosts are so kind, and as knowledgeable as can be on all things biking and adventuring in the Colorado and Utah mountains. The hostel itself is squeaky clean, warm and homey, and very thoughtfully designed. Strongly recommend staying here or stopping by!!

  • This place is amazing and definitely not just just for cyclists. The place has a hip, Southwest by Scandinavian decor. Lots of cool art along with maps and adventure books to inspire your next journey. We stayed in the Suite room which was perfect for our family. The cereal bar was the highlight of the trip for our growing 10 year old. There’s a lovely Sauna!! Finally, the proprietor is super cool and helpful. Definitely a unique and lovely place to stay. Highly recommended.
